Michael Fechter, SVP, Operations
Michael Fechter joins Dotcom with over two decades of supply chain experience. Michael studied Computer Science at Rutgers University and received his CSCP Certification from APICS, the premiere professional association for Supply Chain Management in 2012.
For the last decade, Michael worked at J. Knipper and Company, a pharmaceutical 3PL. He joined Knipper as Production Manager where he directed all kitting and assembly, direct mail, and sales force distribution jobs. He was then promoted to Director, Operations where he led the implementation team in deploying Manhattan Associates ILS.net Warehouse Management System (WMS), incorporating Pick-to-Light and RF picking technologies. He was ultimately promoted into the role of Vice President, Operations where he has managed all operations departments in 5 separate facilities, totaling nearly 600,000 sq. ft. and serving over 100 client companies in the pharmaceutical sector including: DEA controlled drug distribution, Rx sampling, over-the-counter drug distribution, cold chain distribution, literature, and premium fulfillment.
Prior to Knipper, Michael worked at Rust-Oleum as a Production Planning & Inventory Control Manager where he was responsible for scheduling and planning all production activities, including batch making and filling line operations. Before that, as Production Supervisor, he was responsible for all inventory control functions, including maintaining inventory record accuracy, cycle count programs, and physical inventories.
At Dotcom Distribution, Michael will be responsible for all Operations, including all distribution and warehousing functions; capacity planning and scheduling; inventory control; and facilities and security.
When he is not in the warehouse or in his office, Michael spends time with his family. He also enjoys the outdoors, camping and watching sports including hockey, football and baseball. Michael is an avid triathlete and has finished several triathlons. Most recently, Michael finished his first marathon (the Marine Corps Marathon) in 2015.
